Champions of Hope was founded in July 2020 as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) with the primary goal of supporting cancer patients in their journey towards recovery. We also provide support and respite to caregivers who have loved ones living with the experience of the disease firsthand. The organization was started by our founder, Robert Marine, in response to his own experience with childhood cancer. Everyone has a story; he chose to tell his story by putting the word gratitude into action. As a CBO, Champions of Hope relies heavily on the support of volunteers, donors and well-wishers to carry out its activities. One of the main activities is providing psychosocial support and counselling, nutritional support to cancer patients who cannot otherwise afford it. The organization offers nutritious porridge and other supplementary foods to help patients stay healthy and strong during their treatment. Champions of Hope also conducts and participates in outreach programs and workshops focused on creating cancer awareness and advocacy. One of the most inspiring things about Champions of Hope is the spirit of hope and resilience that our cancer patients have even when faced with the unimaginable. Champions of Hope is more than just a CBO; it is a beacon of hope for cancer patients and their families. The organization’s activities have had a significant impact on the lives of many, and it serves as a reminder that together, we can overcome any obstacle and even in times of great loss, walking the journey together has brought comfort to many.
